For many, many years I’ve been wishing for an opportunity to record and release a CD of my own songs, but it just never happened…..except for the three I’ve included here. Most of this collection are songs I performed and recorded while working with Augie Meyers and THE WESTERN HEAD BAND in the 1970’s; three I recorded with some NYC musicians in the 1980’s and one I did with my sis-in-law, Patsy Coleman-Brown and a girl group called THE WILDFLOWERS.

I had to pull all of this music off various old cassette tapes so the sound is definitely not pristine…..but maybe the ‘feeling’ will over-ride any background noise that may be detected by folks with “golden ears”.

My bro, David “Bubba” Brown wrote the beautiful “Dusty Roads” which was recorded and released on the LIVE AT THE LONGNECK LP.

I dedicate this CD to my wonderful daughter-in-law, Sandy Bass-Meyer and my handsome grandson, Dylan who weren’t around to hear this music at the time it was being created…….also to my son Clay who throughout his young life did an overwhelming job of juggling school, sleeping on the bus and playing drums with us, along with his own bands. Thank you, Son, for ALL the help you give and the patience you show to your very technically deficient Mom. LOL….You’ve always been my best pal.

I hope this music brings back some cool memories for all my friends out there who came to listen and party with us ‘back in the day’.

Carol
